Conference 2024.

The Higher Educational Technical School of Professional Studies in Novi Sad organized the 40th Conference of Maintenance Engineers of Serbia and the 3rd Conference with international participation „Advanced Technologies in Education and Industry,“ which took place in Vrnjačka Banja from May 28 to 30, 2024, at the „Kralj“ Hotel.

During this event, 85 papers were presented, and around 100 participants attended the conference.

For the third time, the Higher Educational Technical School of Professional Studies in Novi Sad, in cooperation with the Academy of Engineering Sciences of Serbia, the Society for Technical Diagnostics of Serbia, and the Adam Institute from Smederevo, organized the conference on the topic of Advanced Technologies in Education and Industry.

The conference is the successor to the conferences traditionally held by engineers and technicians of SARTID, the former metallurgy complex from Smederevo, and after its privatization, by the Society for Technical Diagnostics of Serbia. Since 2001, the Society for Technical Diagnostics of Serbia has been organizing gatherings every May, during which over 1,000 papers from the fields of mechanical, electrical, and traffic engineering have been presented and published.

Given that professors from the Higher Educational Technical School of Professional Studies in Novi Sad have been active participants in the events organized by this Society, since 2022, the conferences in Vrnjačka Banja have been organized in collaboration with the mentioned institutions and our school.

On the last day of the conference, a roundtable discussion was held on the topic „Advanced Technologies in Technical Diagnostics and Their Application.“ During the roundtable, representatives from science and industry shared their experiences and views.

In addition to the roundtable moderator, Professor Dr. Ranko Antunović, the introductory speakers were:

  • Prof. Dr. Nenad Gubeljak, University of Maribor, Slovenia
  • Prof. Dr. Radoslav Tomović, University of Podgorica, Montenegro
  • Prof. Dr. Nenad Milovančević, University of Niš, Serbia
  • Dr. Amir Halep, Heidelberg Materials Cement Factory, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The topics for discussion at the roundtable were as follows:

  • Advanced methods of technical diagnostics and further directions of their development (Use of expert systems and artificial intelligence systems, internet technologies…)
  • Technology transfer to the real sector. Applicability of these technologies in the real economic environment.
  • Necessary steps for the implementation of these technologies in the real sector (Staff training, management understanding, standards…)
  • The role of the education system, scientific and professional public (Studying these technologies in existing study programs, Laboratory and research center equipment, training, dual education…).

The discussion at the Roundtable, based on the aforementioned topics, involved numerous domestic and international researchers and experts.

In addition to the exchange of knowledge and experience between the research and real sectors and familiarization with new technologies, directions for their implementation in industrial plants were provided. Certain real problems regarding the application of advanced technologies were highlighted, emphasizing the importance of such discussions and presenting different viewpoints. It would certainly be beneficial for such roundtable discussions to be organized at future conferences, as they could contribute to the creation of a unified research space and the implementation of new technologies into the real sector.

Conference 2023.

The school’s director, Dr. Branko Savić, professor, opened the 2nd INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE „ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION AND INDUSTRY“ today in Vrnjačka Banja.

The conference „ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES IN EDUCATION AND INDUSTRY“ began today in Vrnjačka Banja, with the opening marked by Professor and School Director Dr. Branko Savić.

This second conference with international participation brings together experts from the fields of education and industry from both the country and abroad. A total of more than 80 papers were submitted, having undergone the selection process and been approved by the international committee for publication. This is a clear indication of the interest and engagement of the professional community in the application of advanced technologies in these sectors.

One of the special features of this conference is the participation of master’s students, who had the opportunity to present their works. This is the first time that students have been given the chance to present their ideas, research, and results at such an event. This represents an exceptional opportunity for their professional development and networking with industry experts.

Over the next few days, conference participants will have the opportunity to attend various discussions and lectures covering different thematic areas related to advanced technologies. It is expected that this interactive and dynamic atmosphere will contribute to the exchange of ideas and the creation of new approaches in the application of technologies in education and industry.
